The concepto of being an outsider is complex and can be understood from multiple perspectives. Essentially an outsider is someone who comes from a different place than where they currently are. This term carries a sense of not fitting completely into an environment.

The notion of being an outsider is fluctuating and sometimes can be based on criteria as arbitrary as they are absurd; so absurd that we can end up being outsiders in our own land. There are those who suggest that our sense of belonging is intrinsically linked to the place where we are born, as if the coordinates of our first breath dictated geographical limits. However, we can find ourselves confronted by impertinence, a sense of not belonging; it is when the true sense of belonging is revealed not in the place where we are born, but in those spaces where we find refuge and resonance.

Our program this year is focused on artists who challenge the status quo. Outsiders with unconventional customs and ideas who awaken tension and curiosity in the environments they enter, seeking to prove that being an outsider is nothing more than a state of consciousness, an invitation to recognize that our true belonging is found where we find connection and meaning.
